Yunex Traffic delivers landmark Kempower EV charging solution backed by long-term maintenance and support for reliable operation at UK service station
- Yunex Traffic has supplied and will maintain a high-capacity Kempower EV charging system for eight parking bays at HSRL’s busy Astwick service station on the northbound A1.
- The installation marks a series of UK firsts: Kempower’s first service station and financing project, and Yunex Traffic’s first fuel forecourt installation.
- The system will now be serviced by Yunex Traffic’s locally-based engineers certified with Petrol Retail Contractors Safety Passports.
Poole, UK, 8 July 2026: Yunex Traffic has successfully completed the commissioning of a high-capacity electric vehicle charging solution for Highways Stops Retail Limited (HSRL), marking a significant step in HSRL’s strategic investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI). Now in operation, Yunex Traffic’s field-based service engineers have taken responsibility for the ongoing servicing and maintenance of the charging solution.
HSRL, which owns and operates 16 service stations across the South East of England, selected its Astwick site, located on the northbound carriageway of the A1 trunk road near Hitchin, as its first forecourt to provide customers with en-route EV charging facilities based on a distributed power management system.
The solution features a Kempower distributed power system comprising two triple power cabinets, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW, with four dual satellite units providing simultaneous charging across eight bays, each equipped with contactless payment functionality.
A trusted partner like Yunex Traffic is an asset when embarking on new kinds of projects like this. We’re proud to have supported HSRL to integrate charging into its site and, for the first time in the UK, offered our hardware through a flexible leasing option. Flexible funding will enable more charging operators to invest in infrastructure and support the e-mobility transition in the UK and beyond.
