Service matters: Why enforcement technology is only half the story
By Chris Williss, Business Development Manager – Enforcement
Poole, UK: 1 September 2026: After recent industry events, I have had the opportunity to showcase Yunex Traffic’s enforcement solutions to a wide cross-section of the market. Walking the exhibition floors, one thing was immediately clear at all these events: the industry is investing heavily in camera technology. From hardware innovation to AI-driven analytics, the pace of development in enforcement is impressive – and rightly so.
But what struck me just as much, was what you can’t see on exhibition stands.
Behind every camera, every system, and every enforcement solution is something far more important – and far harder to demonstrate in an exhibition environment: the people. The engineers who design and configure systems, the support teams who keep them running, the operational experts who respond when things go wrong, and the service infrastructure that ensures everything works seamlessly day after day.
In my view, that service capability is just as critical as the technology itself.
When authorities choose an enforcement partner, they’re not just buying cameras. They’re investing in a long-term operational solution. One that depends on reliability, responsiveness, and trust. And that’s where the real differentiation lies.
When I joined Yunex Traffic in late 2025, I arrived with a wealth of experience in the parking industry, specialising in all aspects of camera enforcement, from supporting councils in adopting camera enforcement to designing end-to-end solutions as a solutions architect. But even that didn’t prepare me for the scale, capability, and strength of the organisation I was stepping into.
I knew Yunex Traffic was a major industry player, but what I didn’t realise was just how impressive the operation is. The depth of expertise, the breadth of the company’s solutions and customer base, and the quality, size, experience, and expertise of the customer service team is quite simply on another level. From Civil Enforcement and Clean Air ones (CAZ) through to Criminal Average Speed Enforcement and ANPR-based solutions, the organisation supports a diverse portfolio of services used by authorities and agencies across the UK.
There’s a general belief in the market that camera enforcement providers’ service levels can be slow, unresponsive, or inconsistent, but that’s not the case at Yunex Traffic. Our capabilities, scale, and performance set us apart, and our customers have complete confidence in the service we deliver.
The Yunex Traffic service model is built around one clear goal: to keep customers’ operations running smoothly, reliably, and without interruption.
Unrivalled service and support drives industry-leading uptime
The sheer scale of the engineering and support structure that sits behind every customer is very impressive.
At the centre of our operation is a dedicated Service Operations Centre (SOC) – a true talk-to-a-person 24/7/365 environment where customers can call us and log incidents with confidence, knowing they’ll be routed to a skilled support technician.

There are no outsourced call centres or automated loops. Just real people, available whenever they’re needed. And with constant monitoring and proactive support, we can identify and resolve potential issues quickly or escalate them efficiently where required.
Because we own the entire process, we operate with a full feedback loop, meaning real world insights from customers, engineers, and support teams flow directly back into product development. The result is simple: best in class solutions that evolve as fast as your needs do.

Supporting this is a comprehensive, tiered service model that combines specialist technical expertise, solution engineering, infrastructure management, development resources, and operational support teams. This structure provides the resilience and scalability required to support a wide range of enforcement services, from individual deployments through to large-scale national programmes.
Because we maintain a close connection between customers, operational teams and product specialists, real-world insights are continuously fed back into our solutions. The result is a portfolio of services that continues to evolve alongside changing customer requirements and industry priorities.
When you combine this level of capability with the expertise and experience of our field force, it’s no coincidence that we consistently deliver industry-leading uptime.
Service models built around customers
While scale and capability are major differentiators, flexibility and collaboration are just as important. We work closely with more than 60 UK local authorities and the majority of London Boroughs, not by chance, but because of our ability to adapt to their needs.

Yunex Traffic provides fully bespoke Service Level Agreements (SLAs), designed around each customer’s operational requirements – whether that’s ultra-fast response times, extended coverage, or specialist expertise.
This approach is underpinned by:
- Advanced remote monitoring tools
- Deep technical expertise
- Fast, local engineer deployment
- A culture of accountability and continuous improvement
A complete solution: technology powered by people
After nine months getting to know the business, my impression is simple: when reliability matters, service is what makes the difference.
Technology will always continue to evolve. And it should. The innovation on display at events like Parkex and the Enforcement Summit proves that. But the long-term success of any enforcement solution depends on the strength of the people and the service behind it.
At Yunex Traffic, it’s the combination of technology, scale, and human expertise that gives our customers confidence their systems will remain resilient, responsive, and ready to perform day in, day out.
